FAQs

Got a question? Here's a few answers to common questions...

Where are you based?

I'm based in Melbourne, South Derbyshire, where I work from my garden studio. I sell my handmade pottery at shows in the UK and online across the UK and internationally.

Do you ship internationally?

I ship to many countries worldwide, though unfortunately I'm not currently able to ship to EU countries due to frustrating new regulations. I really hope this changes.

What kind of pottery do you make?

I make unique handmade pottery, predominantly from stoneware clay. Some functional kitchenware including mugs, bowls and dishes and home decoration including ceramic flowers, dangly fish, birds, sheep and pigs, Hug Nuggets and vases, to name a few. My pottery is whimsical and inspired by my love of patterns and nature. Dogs, cats and flowers feature regularly in my decoration. Read more about me here.

Are your ceramic flowers suitable as a gift?

They're one of my most popular gifts. My handmade ceramic flowers are unique, ever-lasting, and packaged ready for gifting. They make a great present for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, or to cheer someone up. Glazed in a dozen different colours, to suit all interiors. The perfect gift when you're not quite sure what to buy and much more special than a bunch of real flowers. They also arrive wrapped, so they're ready for gifting.

What is a Hug Nugget?

Hug Nuggets are my own original creation and are here to spread joy. They’re cute little handmade smiley clay blobs with outstretched arms and full of sentiment. A Hug Nugget can be a heartfelt gift for someone who’s going through something tough, perhaps a way of saying “I’m thinking of you”, “you’re not alone”, “you are loved” or a way of celebrating “yay, you did it” and “you’re a star” plus many more. With several colours and designs, you can choose the Nugget that best matches the situation. See Hug Nuggets here!

When are your pottery workshops?

You tell me when you'd like to come and I'll confirm. Your session is private, just for you, week days or weekends. Check the date with me first before paying if you can't be flexible, just to be sure I'm available. I'll confirm the date is yours once I receive your payment. See my current workshops here.

Do I need experience to join a pottery workshop?

No. My workshops are designed for beginners. Whether you’d like to try hand-building with clay or have a go on the pottery wheel, I’ll guide you through all the steps in a relaxed, friendly session.

Are your pottery workshops private?

Yes, booked at a time that suits you - I offer weekdays, evenings and weekends, subject to my availability. Why not book a group to bring friends or family? Group discounts apply (up to 20% per person) and you get my full attention for the whole session.

How many people can attend a workshop?

Usually up to 4 people for hand-building workshops, and 1-2 people for wheel throwing sessions. The small numbers mean you can get individual attention throughout.

Where do the pottery workshops take place?

I hold my workshops in my garden studio in Melbourne, South Derbyshire.

Can I buy a pottery workshop as a gift?

Yes. You can buy a workshop voucher for instant download here. Simply print and gift the voucher, the recipient has 12 months from date of purchase to book their session with me, so there’s plenty of time to confirm a date that suits.
