What is a Hug Nugget?
Share the love! Hug Nuggets are my little handmade ceramic characters, designed to feel like a tiny hug you can hold in the palm of your hand. At their simplest, they’re cute little smiley clay blobs with outstretched arms, but the sentiment behind them runs much deeper.
Some people buy Hug Nuggets just because they’re cute. Others buy Hug Nuggets as a heartfelt gift for someone who’s going through something tough. To show support, Hug Nuggets are a way of saying “I’m thinking of you”, “you’re not alone”, or “you are loved”, without using actual words. Hug Nuggets can also symbolise celebration; “you did it!”, “you’re a star”, “I’m so proud of you”. I hear the most touching stories from customers about why they’re buying, and it makes me so happy to know that Hug Nuggets are out there, making people smile.
Choosing your Hug Nugget
Each Hug Nugget is unique, handmade by me from stoneware clay and decorated with coloured slips. No two are ever exactly alike. Choose your favourite Nugget colour from blue, green, pink and yellow, along with the design on its tummy; either a heart, a flower or a star. These can cover many sentiments if you’re gifting. Examples; a star is great as a celebration design or to tell someone how bright they shine. The flower can represent friendship, telling someone that they’re in your thoughts, or perhaps even an apology. A heart is of course all about love, in all it’s forms.
Add a flower parasol
Each Hug Nugget has a tiny hole in the top so you can add one of my handmade ceramic flowers as a parasol, popped right into the top of your Nugget for an extra touch of whimsy. Choose to buy your Nugget with or without a flower parasol at checkout. You could of course get creative and add a dried flower of your own, or make a flag with a cocktail stick if you want to!
Gift packaging
Every Hug Nugget is wrapped in tissue paper and nestled in a little kraft gift box, complete with a Hug Nugget card reminding the recipient to “give me a squeeze whenever you need”. The flower parasol also fits in the gift box. Arriving completely ready to gift, so there’s no wrapping needed, I’m happy to send direct if you want to surprise someone.
